Initial Consultation

15 minutes

During this call, discuss what you’re looking for in therapy and my approach to determine if we’re a good fit.

Initial Intake

50 to 90 minutes

We will focus on your presenting concerns, psychological history, and we will begin initial goalsetting.

Individual Therapy

50 minutes

We address the concerns and goals of your choice, explore other meaningful areas, and move towards change.

My clients are 18+ years old. I see people across cultural identities, and commonly I work with people from BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ communities.

Therapy with me is about cultivating insight to promote and empower change. During our sessions, we will explore your personal history and development to make sense of your present mental health concerns. Examinations of your past can help us to better understand your patterns of thinking and behaving, what led to those dynamics, and how they manifest today. Then, we will consider personalized approaches you can begin to integrate during and between sessions.

Clients can focus on a variety of different concerns in therapy. Here are some areas that clients and I have addressed:

  • Mood-related issues (e.g. depression, bipolar disorders)

  • Anxiety (e.g. general anxiety, social anxiety)

  • Relational stress and identity concerns (e.g. identifying wants, values, relationship with self and with others, and identity development)

  • Cultural Experiences (e.g. racial stress, intersectionality, experiences of discrimination and oppression, class-based stress, reflecting on one’s own biased behaviors, gender identity, sexual orientation)

  • Trauma and Dissociative Concerns (acute stress, PTSD, generational trauma, cultural trauma, complex trauma, dissociative identity)

  • Personality/Characterological concerns

Most importantly, treatment is collaborative; so, we will move in directions and incorporate elements you feel work best for you overall. At the end of the day, all sessions will involve elements of empathy, reflection, curiosity, and collaboration.
